The Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Ali Çiviler took part in the international conference entitled "Securing Sport 2015: The Global Power of Sport", organized by the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) on 3-4 November 2015 in New York.
Such high level figures from political and sports arena as the former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; the former US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld; the President of the Council on Foreign Relations Richard N. Haass; the former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece George Papandreou; Magic Johnson, Alessandro Del Piero along with a number of senior representatives from international organizations attended the conference aimed at developing international standards and mechanisms to deal with the irregularities in sport such as corruption, manipulation, match-fixing, xenophobia, racism, child trafficking and gambling.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman in his interview to press gave information about the Turkic Council, its activities and the ongoing cooperation between the ICSS and the Turkic Council.
Besides this, the authorities of the Turkic Council and ICSS exchanged their views regarding the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations to take place on 12 November 2015 in Istanbul, as well as the prospective cooperation projects.
