The Ministers in charge of Economy of the Turkic Council came together on 29 September 2015 in Astana. The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov, the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniar Imanaliev, as well as the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ömer Kocaman attended the meeting which was hosted by the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbolat Dossaev.

 

At the abovementioned meeting the Ministers agreed that the previously established working groups on improving the investment climate, diversification of economy and entrepreneurship as the basis of economic relations should be consolidated into one group and carry out its activities under the name of the Working Group on Economic Cooperation. In addition to this, the Ministers approved Rules of Procedure of the Turkic Council Working Group on Economic Cooperation.

 

The Ministers also welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding amongst Public Authorities of the Member States of the Turkic Council on Cooperation in the Field of Investment Statistics, the Memorandum of Understanding amongst Public Authorities of the Turkic Council Member States for Exploring the Possibilities Regarding Experience Sharing on Investment Climate, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding among Government Bodies for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises of the Turkic Council Member States. The MoUs signed shall further the cooperation in the economic sphere among the Member States.

 

At the end of the meeting, the Ministers expressed their gratitude to the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for organizing and hosting the Ministerial Meeting and decided that the next meeting will be held in Azerbaijan in 2016.

 

The Project Directors Farid Damirli, Zamin Aliyev, Assan Mazhitov and Zhydyz Uzakov accompanied the head of the Turkic Counil delegation the Deputy Secretary General Ömer Kocaman at the said meeting.
