The 5th Meeting of the Senior Officials Committee (SOC) of the Turkic Council was convened in Istanbul, Turkey on 26-27 March 2012 at the Secretariat premises.
Delegations from the following Turkic Council Member States and the Secretariat participated in the Meeting: Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Turkey.
Following agenda items and related documents were discussed:
1. Agreement on the establishment of the Turkic Academy.
2. Agreement on Financial Rules
3. The Financial Report of the Secretariat – 2011 and Budget of the Secretariat for 2013
4. Charter of the Foundation for the Support to the Turkic Culture and the Protection of thTurkic Heritage
5. Action Plan of the Chairmanship
6. Preparations for the Bishkek Summit
The parties agreed to hold the SOC meetings in Istanbul to be hosted by the Secretariat as a rule, except the sessions to be held in the eve of the Turkic Council Summits.
