The First International Professional Kick Boxing Tournament of the Turkic Council Countries, hosted by the Kick Boxing Federation of Azerbaijan between 30 June-2 July, ended.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan İsmayıl İsmayılov, Ambassadors of Turkic Council member states in Baku, heads of various sports federations of Azerbaijan participated in the tournament organized with participation of a large number of athletes in different categories coming from four member states.
Azerbaijani people showed great interest in the tournament which was broadcasted live on a Sports Channel of Azerbaijan.
Contestants who won at the competition received gold, silver and bronze medals as well as cash reward, whereas the Azerbaijan kick boxing team, which won the most medals, were presented the trophy of the tournament.
At the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan İsmayılov, Head of Kick Boxing Federation Aliyev and Turkic Council Project Director Ali Çiviler emphasized that activities in the field of youth and sports organized by the Turkic Council bring together brotherly states and people, establish bridges of friendship, leads to consciousness-raising and consolidation of values shown to sports in our countries.
Turkic Council Project Director Farid Damirli was also present at the tournament.
