The Global South-South Development (GSSD) EXPO 2017  where the Turkic Council is an implementing partner will kick off on 27  November 2017 in Antalya.
The Global South-South Development (GSSD) EXPO 2017, organized by the UN Office for South South Cooperation (UNOSSC) will be hosted by the Republic of Turkey and will take place in Antalya at the Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek from 27 to 30 November 2017 with the theme of “South-South Cooperation in the Era of Economic, Social and Environmental Transformation: Road to the 40th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Buenos Aires Plan of Action (BAPA+40)”.The Turkic Council is among the implementing partners of the said event and actively participates in its preparation process.

In the framework of the GSSD EXPO, the Turkic Council organizes on 28 November 2017 the Thematic Solution Forum entitled “Good Practices of South-South Cooperation for Implementation of the SDGs: Development through Transformation” in partnership with UN Development Programme. The Solution Forum will provide fertile ground to showcase successful South-South cooperation examples from the Eurasian region making a transformative impact on the achievement of the SDGs. On the other hand, Turkic Council, UNOSSC, Silk Road Cities Alliance, China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges and UNDP Turkey will organize the High-Level Roundtable Workshop themed “City Experiences on South-South Cooperation in Tourism for Sustainable Development” on 30 November 2017 within the GSSD EXPO. Mayors and government representatives from the cities located along the destination of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package Project will also take part in the workshop where the said project will be taken up as a successful South-South cooperation model. The Turkic Council supports the materialization of the GSSD EXPO in line with the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016 between the two organizations. The joint report of the Turkic Council and the UNOSSC that puts forward the contribution of the Turkic Council to regional and global development through the means of South-South cooperation was launched on 25 September 2017 in New York on the margins of the 72th Session of UN General Assembly.
