The Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Mr. Mirvokhid Azimov held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Beşiktaş Football Club of the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Emre Kocadağ at the premises of the Secretariat on 13 July 2023 in Istanbul.
During the meeting, Azimov and Kocadağ discussed the strengthening the people to people ties and development of sports cooperation, especially football collaboration among the Turkic countries.
The Parties noted with satisfaction that according to the new Regulation of the Turkish Football Federation on the status of legionnaires, a football player who is a citizen of one of the Turkic States will not be considered in Turkiye as legionnaire or foreigner.
The Deputy Secretary General Mirvokhid Azimov and Deputy Chairman Emre Kocadağ emphasized that above-mentioned will contribute to even more bringing closer and strengthening the solidarity of the Turkic peoples, as well as be a vivid example for other countries.
Following the meeting, the Parties also discussed the issues of attracting young and promising football players of the Turkic States to the Beşiktaş Football Club.
