The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Organization H.E. Ambassador Lazăr Comănescu at BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul.

BSEC Secretary General congratulated Secretary General Omuraliev on his appointment as the new Secretary General of the OTS and extended his wishes of success in his term. During the meeting, Ambassador Lazăr Comănescu informed about the structure, the current economic agenda and ongoing projects of BSEC.

Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev briefed his counterpart on the history and economic activities of the OTS. Highlighting the importance economic relation for the welfare and regional development, Ambassador Omurlaiev expressed the need to strengthen collaboration in this area by introducing additional mechanisms and establishing partnership with relevant regional and international organizations.

The OTS Secretary General Omuraliev and BSEC Secretary General Lazăr discussed wide range of issues of economic cooperation and exchanged views on exploring the opportunities for economic cooperation between two Organizations, particularly in the field of economy, energy, trade, transport, tourism, and ICT.

The Parties agreed to increase contacts and interactions between their respective Organizations.
