Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev recieved Mr. Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA (PS IGC TRACECA) on 6 June 2023 at the premises of the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in a fruitful exchange of information regarding the transport and transit priorities and activities of the two organizations.
With a shared understanding of the importance of transit corridors, particularly the Middle Corridor connecting Europe with Central Asia, the parties emphasized the necessity of effectively integrating different modes of transport.
To that end, the parties agreed to join efforts in implementing digital solutions that would streamline transport and transit procedures. They also discussed the organization of the International Intermodal Transport Forum in the upcoming period, which will serve as a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and foster greater cooperation in the field of transportation.
