The Press Conference on the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package and Azerbaijan part of its first fam trip was held on 27 April 2017 in Baku.
Detailed information about the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package and Azerbaijan part of its first fam trip was provided during the press conference which was attended by Turkic Council Project Directors Pelin Musabay Baki, Ferid Demirli, Representative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Seymur Hasanov as well as the members of the delegation of the first fam trip consisiting of of foreign journalists, media representatives from Turkic Council Member States, officials of tour operators and bloggers.
At the press conference Turkic Council Project Directors and Official from the Ministry provided information about the scope and content of the project and emphasized that the project`s main objective is to revitalize the traditional Silk Road route as a tourism destination. They also reported on the Azerbaijan section of the fam trip which lasted for three days, during which the historical and cultural beauties of Gence, Sheki, Shamahi and Baku were visited.
Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki gave detailed information during the press conferenbce and underlined that this Project is a product of a three-year detailed and hard work which will continue with Kazakhtan and then Kyrgyzstan. She also mentioned that the Joint Tour Package is planned to be sold during the Nevroz feast in 2018.
Seymur Hasanov, Representative of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan dded that for many centuries the Silk Road has deepened both trade and cultural relations among the countries on its way and today this Project is a very important development for transforming this route to a tourism destination.
Members of the delegation of the first fam trip also visited Günay Efendiyeva, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation on 28 April 2017 in Baku and exchanged ideas on the promotion of the Joint Tour Package to reach the broad masses.
The delegation will departure from Baku to Almaty to continue discovering the cultural and historical milestones of the Silk Road in Kazakhstan.
