THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CAMP OF THE TURKIC COUNCIL HAS STARTED IN ANTALYA.

THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CAMP OF THE TURKIC COUNCIL HAS STARTED IN ANTALYA.
The Cooperation Council of Turkic States (Turkic Council) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey are organizing the Turkic Council Second International Youth Camp under the theme of “Common Culture, Common Future and Young Leaders” on 13-19 August 2017 and 22-28 August 2017 in Antalya, Turkey. 

The aim of the camp is to contribute to the personal development of the future young leaders, to promote socialization among the youth sharing the same history and culture, to strengthen ties of friendship and fraternity among the youngsters and societies, as well as to create a brighter future with youth having increased sense of awareness towards the social problems.

More than 200 young people from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are participating in the men’s part of the camp which has started today. For the first time this year, young people from the diaspora of the member countries of the Turkic Council are also participating in the camp.

The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, Osman Aşkın Bak who is in Antalya within the framework of the official programme of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visited the camp and came together with the participants during the lunch.

Governor of Antalya Mr. Münir Karaloğlu, Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Menderes Türel, Secretary General of TÜRKSOY Mr. Düsen Kaseinov, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Youth and Sports Mr. İbrahim Özekinci, Antalya Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ambassador Hüseyin Avni Aksoy, Vice-President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) of the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Said Yusuf, and the diplomatic representatives from the Consulate Generals of the member countries are expected to participate in the opening ceremony of the camp which will take in the evening today. Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Ali Çiviler will also participate in the opening ceremony.

The girls’ camp will be held between 22-28 August 2017 again in Alaaddin Keykubat Youth Camp in Antalya.

TURKSOY Chamber Orchestra, which is awarded first prize by UNESCO, will perform at the opening ceremony of the camp. The Orhestra which is composed of young people from various parts of the Turkic world will perform famous songs and folk dance shows of the Turkic World by the traditional Turkic instruments. 

Hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, local visits, cultural and sports activities and thematic discussions will take place within the scope of the camp activity which is planned to last for one week.
