Secretary General of Organization of Turkic States H.E. Baghdad Amreyev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan H.E. Rashid Meredov held a meeting in Ashgabat on 13 March 2022.
The Secretary General and the Foreign Minister discussed the ongoing cooperation within the Organization and elaborated on the steps to be taken in the coming period to deepen the collaboration as well as active involvement of Turkmenistan in OTS undertakings.
Minister Meredov reiterated Turkmenistan’s determination to develop the relations with the OTS in all fields and widen its participation in the relevant events and activities. He also expressed the interest of his country to join other Turkic Cooperation Organizations, as well as the Council of Elders and Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Secretary General Amreyev emphasized that the OTS Members States attach great importance to Turkmenistan’s involvement in the activities and projects of the Organization and its membership in OTS related/affiliated institutions.
Congratulating the Minister on the successful organization of the presidential elections, B. Amreyev further expressed confidence that the results of the elections will give an important impetus to the further prosperity of the country and bring a new spirit and strengthen cooperation within the Turkic world.
During the meeting, Baghdad Amreyev and Rashid Meredov also discussed pressing issues of the international and regional agenda.
