Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent on June 1, 2022.
During the meeting Parties discussed the current state of the cooperation between the Turkic states in the field of agriculture.
Minister and Secretary General underlined the huge potential of the Turkic States in the field of agriculture and supported the establishment of cooperative relations to create broad opportunities for complementary products of the agricultural market of the Member States of the Organization.
The parties agreed to organize a series of expert meetings of the Ministries of Agriculture of the Member States in the format of a video conference for thorough preparation of the First Meeting of the Ministries of Agriculture and the Turkic Agro Forum, planned to be organized in early July 2022 in Uzbekistan.
They expressed the need to hold 1st meeting for the working groups on research and development, economic issues of agricultural products, introduction of agricultural technologies and projects, cooperation in seed production which will lead to concrete proposals and projects to be discussed at the ministerial meeting.
The Secretary General and the Minister agreed on holding joint international ministerial meetings together with the EU, CIS, OEC in the field of agriculture and food security will have significant repercussions and open new prospects for cooperation among the Turkic States.
