Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the Secretary General of Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) H.E. Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam on 3 February 2023, at the premises of the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul.
At the meeting, Secretary General Omuraliev provided an overview of the objectives and goals of the Organization as well as its ongoing activities and projects carried out within the framework of economic cooperation.
Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam briefed about the ongoing multilateral activities of the D-8, particularly in energy, trade, agriculture, tourism sectors and shared his views on possible areas of cooperation between the two Organizations.
The Parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation between the OTS and the D-8, exchanged views on concrete steps for developing the cooperation. They reaffirmed the willingness to strengthen further the collaboration for the sake of regional economic and social development.
