At the meeting, Secretary General Amreyev expressed his gratitude for receiving him in the capacity of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council and conveyed his thanks to H.E. Binali Yıldırım for the continuous support he provided to the Turkic Council during his previous and current posts.
During the meeting, Secretary General Amreyev briefed H.E. Binali Yıldırım about the major achievements of the Turkic Council since its establishment, in 14 different cooperation areas from foreign policy to economy and from transport to education. He also touched upon the close cooperation established with the UN, its specialized agencies and with other international organizations like OSCE, OIC, ECO etc. Furthermore, he expressed the willingness to foster the cooperation among the Member States and to start structural improvement of the Turkic integration institutions in accordance with the decisions of the Heads of State taken during the last Summit in Cholpon-Ata.
The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Binali Yıldırım congratulated Secretary General Amreyev with the appointment and wished success in his new post. H.E. Binali Yıldırım welcomed the information provided by the Secretary General and referred to the importance and consideration the Turkish authorities give to the Turkic Council at every level. He also added that they will continue to follow the activities of the Turkic Council and support its work by all means.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts in memory of the visit.
Secretary General Amreyev was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Asan Mazhitov during the visit.
