The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov has attended the 13th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on 1 March 2017 in Islamabad, Pakistan.
H.E. İlham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaycan; H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Republic of Turkey; H.E. Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic and H.E. Askar Myrzakhmetov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with other heads of states and governments of ECO member countries participated in the meeting.
In his statement during the Summit, Secretary General Hasanov highlighted the contribution of the Turkic Council to the connectivity among the countries in the region with a special reference to achievements made on the Central and Trans-Caspian Transport Corridors. He stressed the importance of security in the attainment of the desired levels of economic development.
Secretary General Hasanov also held a number of bilateral meetings with high level officials on the margins of the Summit.
The delegation of the Turkic Council headed by Secretary General Hasanov also participated in the official luncheon hosted by H.E. Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
