The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev met with Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Roman Sklyar.

The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev met with Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Roman Sklyar.
Within the context of his working visit to Astana, Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev had a bilateral meeting with Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan H.E. Roman Sklyar on 12 March 2019. 
Minister R. Sklyar welcomed the Secretary General and expressed confidence that the Turkic Council will increase its role in boosting the cooperation among the Member States in the coming period. The Minister reassured the Secretary General that the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue supporting the activities of the Turkic Council to the full extent.    
 
Secretary General congratulated Minister Sklyar on his appointment as Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and expressed his confidence that strong support of Kazakhstan to the cooperation in further development of transport and transit in the framework of the Turkic Council would continue during his office. He also emphasized the important role of Kazakhstan in fostering collaboration in economy, transport, industry and infrastructure development among the Turkic Council Member States. 
 
Secretary General notified Minister about the results of the 7th Meeting of the Heads Customs Administrations of the Turkic Council held on 11 March 2019 in Astana, as cooperation in customs has direct influence on the transit facilitation and transport development.  
 
In addition, Parties discussed the agenda of the upcoming 4th meeting of Ministers of Transport of the Turkic Council that is planned to be held on 17 April 2019 in Bishkek. At this meeting further steps based on concrete transport projects will be discussed.  
 
Minister Sklyar informed Secretary General about latest developments in the transport infrastructure and transit procedures of Kazakhstan. He underlined that Kazakhstan attaches utmost importance to the development of trade by facilitating uninterrupted freight flow through developing appropriate infrastructure as modernization and construction new highways and railroad. Furthermore, he expressed the readiness of his Ministry to cooperate not only in transport sphere but also in industry and subsoil use scopes. 
 
Deputy Secretary General Gismat Gozalov and Project Director Assan Mazhitov accompanied the Secretary General Amreyev at the meeting.
