The Secretary General of the Turkic Council met with the President of Kazakhstan.
On March 11, 2021, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan received H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Turkic Council in Nur-Sultan.
During the meeting, Secretary General expressed his deep gratitude to President K.J. Tokayev for his continuous support to the activities of the Turkic Council and for the important role that Kazakhstan plays in the workings of the Organization.
B. Amreyev briefed President K. Tokayev on the current activities of the Turkic Council and planned undertakings of the Organization in the coming period.
Secretary General informed the Head of Kazakhstan on the preparations for the upcoming Summit of the Turkic Council, to be held in Turkistan at the end of March this year, as well as about the activities of the Organization in field of economy and investments.
Noting the increasing visibility of the Turkic Council as an effective international organization, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appreciated the Turkic Council's role in strengthening integration efforts among the Turkic States.
The President emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation in the activities of the Organization. In particular, he stressed the significance of speeding up the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund, whose activities would greatly contribute to the increased cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses of the Member States.
The Head of the Turkic Council expressed his confidence that the forthcoming Turkic Council Summit would constitute an important occasion in strengthening brotherhood and unity ties among the Member States and that the city of Turkistan would consolidate its status as Spiritual Capital of the Turkic World.
The President and the Secretary General also exchanged views on a number of relevant issues on the international and regional agenda.
