The third session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers (ICYSM) has started on 6 October 2016 in Istanbul under the title of "Empowering Youth For Peace, Solidarity and Development".
High level officials from OIC member states, OIC`s specialized agencies on youth, young leaders from around the Islamic world and a number of experts have attended the said meeting.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey HE Akif Çağatay Kılıç. The President of ICYSM Prince Abdullah bin Musa`ed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) Mr. Elshad Iskandarov and the Secretary General of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) Mr. Faisal Al-Nassar have delivered their speeches in the opening ceremony.
The opening session of the meeting was followed by the signing of the two MoUs on youth cooperation.
Later on, the reports by the ICYF-DC and the ISSF were discussed by the delegations during the meeting.
Project Director Mehmet Şefik Yurtçiçek followed the event on behalf of the Turkic Council Secretariat.
