Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Ali Çiviler held a working meeting with officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to discuss the Turkic Council First University Sports Games to be held in Baku between 5-10 April 2018.

The technical details such as the schedule of the games, the competition fixture, the opening and closing ceremonies were discussed during the meeting.

The Turkic Council University Sports Games will start with the competitions to be held on 6 April 2018. The official opening ceremony of the Games will be held on 6 April 2018 at 19.00 at the Baku Sports Palace, with the participation of the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Mr. Azad Rahimov, Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Ambassadors of the Member States in Baku, the members of the diplomatic missions in Baku, University Rectors, Secretary General of TURKPA, President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, as well as other guests and audience,

Organized in 7 different sports branches, approximately 400 university athletes and coaches from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey will be attending the event.
