The Turkic Council participated in the 3rd Eurasian Forum on Social Sciences  organized by the Eurasian Research Institute.
Turkic Council was represented by the Advisor of the Secretariat of the Turkic Council, Ambassador Halil Akıncı, and Research Expert, Dastan Almen, at the 3rd Eurasian Forum on Social Sciences organized by the Eurasian Research Institute of Khoca Akhmet Yassawi University that was held on 15-16 November, 2014 in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

Ambassador Akıncı as a guest speaker to the forum referred to the regional integration models. While underlining the growing geopolitical importance of the Eurasian region he reminded the pivotal role of keeping intra-regional balance for stability. He also discussed about the measures that would facilitate the formation of regional integration processes. 

Akıncı informed the audience about what has been done in the framework of the Turkic Council up to now, drawing attention to the cooperation of the Member States of the Turkic Council in transportation and customs spheres which constitute obstacles for intra Turkic Council trade and economic cooperation. He indicated that concrete steps should be taken in relation to the above mentioned areas. Finally, Ambassador Akıncı referred to the role of the Turkic Academy, its recent achievements and its place in the integration of the Turkic World.
