Third Meeting of Turkic Council Ministers of Transport was held on 9 March 2016 in Istanbul.
The participants from the member states of the ministerial meeting hosted by Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım were Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Argynbek Malayev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Musa Panahov and Deputy Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Zhumashev. Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov moderated the said meeting.
The ministers emphasized the realization of the projects in the field of transport, proper evaluation of the existing potential and the importance of strengthening cooperation in this regard. The ministers also welcomed the Final Declaration of the Workshop on Turkic Council Trans-Caspian Multimodal Route held on 8 March 2016 (yesterday) and stressed that realization of the declaration issues will make Trans-Caspian Transport Route more effective and consistent.
During the meeting, the Minister of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic Malabaev signed on the Turkic Council Joint Transport Cooperation Protocol already signed by Ministers of Transport of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey during the First Meeting of Turkic Council Ministers of Transport held in 2013 in Azerbaijan
At the meeting, Secretary General of Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov gave comprehensive information about activities of the Secretariat especially in field of transport and preparation for the 6th Turkic Council Summit to take place in Kyrgyzstan this year.
