Turkic Council and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Turkic Council and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) of OIC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop cooperation among the two organizations on 18 April 2016 at the premises of the Turkic Council Secretariat.

The MoU was signed by Ambassador Mr. Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council and Ambassador Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SECRIC, in the presence of representatives of media.

The MoU is aimed at enhancing cooperation between the Turkic Council and SESRIC through implementation of joint initiatives and activities. The aforementioned MoU is intended to launch a comprehensive cooperation between the OIC and the Turkic Council whose members are at the same time the OIC members. It is also aimed at contributing to the economic and social integration of the Turkic States, which are located at the very strategic region of the Islamic geography, with the Islamic World.

The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov addressed the guests during the signing ceremony and said that the launch of the process of cooperation between SESRIC and the Turkic Council is the reflection of the will for establishing relations between OIC and the Turkic Council which is reflected in the Final Declaration of 13th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference of OIC held last week (14-15 April).

Ambassador Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SECRIC expressed their appreciation to develop their relations with the Turkic Council and emphasized that the cooperation between the two institutions will be strengthened with concrete projects in the coming period.
