Turkic Council, attended the 2018 UNWTO & WTM Ministers` Meeting.
Upon the invitation of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Project Director Zhanar Nugmanova and Research Expert Dastan Almen participated in the 2018 UNWTO & WTM Ministers Summit on 6 November 2018 in London.

Dedicated to the topic of investment in tourism technology, this high-level meeting served a practical platform for tourism leaders to share best practices at the roundtable where ministers and private sector discussed ways to further the tourism through a public-private partnership and digital transformation.

Senior Exhibition Director of WTM Simon Press and Deputy Secretary General Jaime Alberto Cabal made their opening speeches, after which CNN`s well-known reporter Richard Quest moderated the first panel where eminent traditional and non-traditional representatives of the private tourism sector presented their views regarding the development of tourism technologies.

Then, the participating ministers from countries such as Ghana, Malasia, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Uruguay joined the private sector panelists to discuss the role of government and its policies in the ecosystem development, data-driven decision making and digital destination branding.

The ministerial summit was held on the margins of the World Travel Market (WTM), the leading global event for the travel industry taking place on 5-7 November 2018 in London, where the Turkic Council presents and promotes the touristic potential of its member states through Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package.
