Turkic Council technical group composed of the customs officials of the Member States met on 17 October 2019 in Baku in order to update the findings and review the recommendations of the previous field visits held in the framework of the Caravanserai Project. The meeting was hosted by the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Secretariat touched upon the outcomes of 7th Summit of the Turkic Council in terms of economy, transport and customs; and briefly informed the experts on the current projects of the Turkic Council in the field of customs cooperation. The Parties also exchanged views on the program of events including field visits and training programs to be organized in the upcoming period under the Turkic Council umbrella.
In this respect, the experts updated the findings of checklists of the previous field visits organized to Red Bridge Border Crossing Point.
On 18 October, the experts held a field visit to the newly established Baku International Sea Port located in Alat settlement and received extensive information regarding customs and border services and procedures provided from the officials of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan
