Turkic Council convened the Video-Conference Meeting of the Supply Chain Group

Video-Conference Meeting of the Supply Chain Group within the Health Coordination Committee of the Turkic Council was organized on 6 August 2020.
 

The meeting was moderated by H.E. Mr. Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Turkic Council and attended by Mr. Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, General Manager of International Health Services Inc. of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey (USHAŞ); Ms.Gulmira Shakirova, Director of the Department of Medicines and Medical Devices of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Kyrgyz Republic; Mr. Ermek Omuraliev,Director of the Sixth Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic; Mr. Alibaba Babayev, legal adviser of the  Innovation and Procurement Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Ms. Gulnara Mukhanova, Acting Director of the Department of Strategy and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Mr.Bakhrom Almatov,  Deputy Director of the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare;  Mrs Romána Zelkó,  Head of Pharmacy Departmentof Semmelweis University of Hungary, as well as the representatives of the private companies of the Member States included in the Supply Chain Group.
 

Secretary General Amreyev briefed the participants on the latest developments and activities conducted by the Secretariat in fight against COVID-19 pandemic. He underlined the importance of this meeting in establishing public-private partnerships for joint production of and providing each other with the medical devices/equipment, pharmaceuticals, disposable products, as well as exploring opportunities for health infrastructure investments, innovative IT systems and  service procurement.
 

Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, General Manager of USHAŞ had a detailed presentation on USHAŞ and its activities. General Manager, among others, emphasized that so far USHAŞ distributed 5 million domestically produced COVID-19 RT-QPCR detection kits (Bio-Speedy) in Turkey and delivered over 1 million tests of kit abroad, including brotherli Turkic Council Member States. Additionally, together with the Ministries of Industry and Technology and Health of Turkey and private companies, such as Biosis, Baykar, Aselsan, Arçelik and Tüseb, they achieved to develop domestic ICU ventilator (BIYOVENT) and started to use it in Basakshehir City Hospital and Pandemic Hospitals, as well as exported around 5.500 of them.
 

He informed that USHAŞ exported thousands of PPEs, COVID-19 test kits, medicines, medical devices and ICU ventilators to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Now, USHAŞ sharing its experiences of supply role in PPEs during the pandemic even with UNDP, and they are eager to share these experience and knowledge in any areas and to cooperate brotherluy Turkic nations as well.
 

Mr. Kılıçkaya offered cooperation in the field of health tourism, management of office, Diagnosis Center/Outpatient Clinic, Hospital Medicines, Medical Devices and Consumables, Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Healthcare Information, Management Systems and Education.


The Parties exchanged information on their needs and requirements for the medical equipment and medications.


The delegations will provide the list of additional required masks, medicines, medical devices, medical equipment, test kits, ventilators and other relevant materials to the Secretariat in order to take necessary steps in providing support and assistance to the Member and Observer States of the Turkic Council.
