Turkic Council convened Video-Conference Meeting of the Ministers of Health
Video-Conference Meeting of the Ministers of Health of the Member and Observer States of the Turkic Council was held on 28 April 2020 for the follow-up of the decisions taken by the Heads of State during the Extraordinary Summit of the Turkic Council held on 10 April 2020. 
The meeting was hosted by Prof. Ogtay Shiraliyev, Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan in his capacity as the current Chairman-in-Office and attended by Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Dr. Yeljan Birtanov, Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr. Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, Dr. Alisher Shadmanov, Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Nurbolot Usenbaev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Dr. Zoltan Lorinczi, State Secretary of Health of Hungary and Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, Regional Director for Europe of the World Health Organization.
Ministers of Health of the Members and Observer State Hungary discussed the ways of implementation of the decisions made during the Extraordinary Summit; emphasized the significance of cooperation among the Member and Observer States in the fight against the COVID-19 and in the post-pandemic period within the framework of the Turkic Council. 
They decided to set up multilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to exchange information-experience and best practices in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment of dangerous infections, monitoring, epidemiological studies and scientific researches among the Member and Observer States. In this respect, Ministers agreed to launch joint technical meetings and training programs among the health professionals of the Parties. 
Ministers also put emphasize on the joint health infrastructure investments, production of essential medical equipments such as test kits, masks, pharmaceutical products, development of vaccine, particularly essential laboratory-life supporting medical equipments. They agreed to form a “Supply Chain Group” in this regard to cooperate in the afore-mentioned areas. Parties also agreed to hold special Business Forum soon, dedicated to setting up cooperation among the public and private companies for the production of afore-mentioned items.  
In his speech, Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev briefed the Ministers on the outcomes of the Extraordinary Summit of the Presidents of the Turkic Council held on 10 April 2020 and informed them on the upcoming Meetings Ministers of Transport, Economy-Trade, ICT and Heads of Migration Services of the Turkic Council which will be held via video-conferences at the end of April and beginning of May.
Secretary General shared his vision of establishing multilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to increase cooperation and coordination among the relevant institutions of the Member States.
B. Amreyev underlined the crucial importance of establishing joint infrastructure investments in the field of healthcare system and the production of the supporting medical and laboratory equipments as well as pharmaceutical products including vaccines.
Secretary General stated that in line with the instructions of the Heads of State at the Extraordinary Summit, the Secretariat will take the necessary steps to coordinate all joint efforts in these fields and implement the agreed topics by the Ministers during and after the pandemic.
