Turkic Council convened Video-Conference Meeting of the Sub- Working Group on Cyber Security
Ad hoc video-conference meeting of the Sub-Working Group on Cyber Security of the Turkic Council was held on 21 September 2020.
The meeting was organized as the outcome of the extraordinary Summit of Heads of the Turkic Council convened on 10 April 2020 video conference format with the aim to discuss possible challenges and threats to the digital security of the Turkic States due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   
The meeting was attended by high level representatives of relevant Departments of the Ministries of Communication and Technologies, National Security Committee and Cyber Security Centers, National of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT) of the Member and Observer States. 
Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Mr.Gismat Gozalov in his opening statement briefed the Parties on the active role of Turkic Council in developing and strengthening cooperation and coordination of activities in ICT sector. Talking about the current global COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the lockdown has forced government institutions, organizations, and businesses he underlined the necessity of developing security strategies and policies, as well as strengthen cooperation to address cyber threats, unify awareness campaigns among the countries during and post pandemic era. 
The Parties provided information on measures taken in the cyber security area and exchanged the best practices in their respective countries, as well as discussed issues on the building cooperation mechanisms of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) established within the Turkic Council and shared their views on sectors and services that CERT team can provide. They also agreed to increase cooperation on countering cybercrime and explore coordinated actions against cybercriminals operating in the territory of the Member and Observer States.
