Following the decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council during its meeting in New York in September 2011, an ad hoc delegation headed by the Turkic Council Secretariat, composed of representatives from Member States was organized to observe the presidential election in the Kyrgyz Republic on 30 October 2011.
According to the election results, Mr. Almazbek Atanbayev, Social Democratic Party leader and former Prime Minister was elected as the President of Kyrgyz Republic.
