Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Abzal Saparbekuly participated in the T-20 Tourism Ministers Meeting on 30 September 2015 in Antalya co-organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN WTO) and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey within the framework of Turkish G-20 Presidency.

Before the meeting, he informed Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the UN WTO of the measures that are being taken for the implementation of the Turkic Council-Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package.

In the session of the “tour de table”, Deputy Secretary General Abzal Saparbekuly took the floor and explained the projects of the Turkic Council in the field of tourism. Underlining the firm commitment of the Turkic Council to enhacne the existing cooperation with the UN WTO through the implementation of the MoU signed between the two organizations, Deputy Secretary General Saparbekuly thanked Secretary General Rifai and his able team for their valuable efforts in the developmnet of tourism sector worldwide.

At the end of the meeting, the Declaration that puts forward the ways and means to increase the involvement of the tourism sector in the global employment with a special emphasis on the empowerment of youth and women was approved. Deputy Secretary General Saparbekuly welcomed the delibrations in the Declaration and expressed the readiness of the Turkic Council to contribute to its effective implementation in line with the Sustainable Development Goals recently approved by the UN General Assembly.The name of the Turkic Council was among the international organizations that were mentionned in the Ministerial Declaration constituting a significant advisory document for the G20 leaders.
