Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman attended the 3rd International ‘Great Steppe` Social Sciences Forum organized by International Turkic Academy on 18 June 2018 in Astana.

Deputy Secretary General Kocaman presented a paper during the panel entitled "Theoretical Framework of Cooperation in the Turkish World", which was moderated by retired Ambassador Halil Akıncı. Giving information on how the idea of institutionalized Turkic integration came about and briefing on the foundation of the Turkic Council, Deputy Secretary General outlined the vision of the organization and its long-term aims and interests by showcasing practical examples of its activities.

A large number of scientists, experts, researchers and representatives of international organizations who participated in the forum discussed in depth the role of the cultural values embedded in the Turkic World and Eurasian geography in the course of the history of humanity and proposed solutions to the regional and global challenges.
