Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman attended the 3rd Congress of the World Union of Ahiska Turks (DATÜB).

Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman participated in the 3rd Congress of the World Union of Ahiska Turks (DATÜB) held on 3 November 2017 in Almaty.

Deputy Governor of Almaty Arman Kyrykbayev, Director General for Caucasus, Central Asia, Russia and Eastern Europe at the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Ambassador Vural Altay, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Astana Nevzat Uyanık, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Rıza Kağan Yılmaz, Program Coordinator of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in the Republic of Kazakhstan Evren Rutbil, Director of Support Services at the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Suat Beylur and representatives of Ahiska Turks Associations coming from several countries attended the meeting hosted by President of DATÜB Ziyaaddin Kassanov.

Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Secretary General Kocaman gave information about the activities of the Turkic Council and summarized in detail projects of the organization in the field of diaspora. Dr. Kocaman also informed the participants about the prospective activities of the Turkic Council in field of diaspora such as the establishment of the Turkic Council Regional Diaspora Centers and organization of Second Turkic Council Diaspora Forum.
