Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman attends the TRT Avaz Strategy Workshop taking place on 5-6 December 2017 in Darıca district of Kocaeli.
Director General of TRT İbrahim Eren, Deputy President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Ali Maskan, Mayor of Darıca Şükrü Karabacak, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi University Prof. Musa Yıldız, Rector of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University and the Chairman-in-Office of the Turkic Council Turkic University Union Prof. Sabahattin Balcı, Deputy Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Prof. Fırat Purtaş, Coordinator of TRT Avaz Channel Sedat Sağırkaya, renowned historian Prof. İlber Ortaylı, staffers of TRT Avaz Channel and a number of academicians closely interested in the Turkic World are participating the two-day workshop.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Kocaman made an assessment on the transformation of the TRT Avaz Channel. He also touched upon the establishment of the International Turkic News Channel, which was brought to the agenda by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev during the 5th Summit of the Turkic Council in Astana adding his views that TRT Avaz Channel may be converted into a common Turkic channel.
