Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman met with Minister of Tourism and Culture of Turkey Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş on 13 September 2017 in Chengdu on the margins of the 22nd Session of the UNWTO General Assembly "Tourism and the Sustainable Development Goals: Journey 2030".
During the meeting, Dr. Kocaman gave information about the ongoing project of the Turkic Council "Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package" and asked for support in the field of joint capacity building programs for the hotels, tour operators and guides taking part in the said project. He also informed the minister on the efforts exerted to promote the said project at the international exhibitions on tourism in Berlin, Madrid, London and other cities.
In response, Minister Kurtulmuş expressed his full support and gave the necessary instructions to his team.
As is known, during the Summit in Bodrum in 2014 Heads of the States of the Turkic Council instructed the Secretariat to prepare a joint project in the tourism sector.
