Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Mr. Abzal Saparbekuly was received by Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on 11 October 2014 in Istanbul at the premises of Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA).

During the meeting cooperation potential between the two Organizations as well as the Turkic Council`s application for observer status to the OIC were discussed.

The Organization of Turkic States was established in 2009 as an intergovernmental organization. Its primary objective is to foster comprehensive cooperation among Turkic States.
