Turkic Council International Observation Mission led by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Omer Kocaman was received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mahmud Mammad- Guliyev on 6 April 2018.

The delegation was informed about the current situation and preperations undertaken by the Ministry with regards to Presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan on 11 April 2018. Deputy Minister also touched upon the ongoing projects and activities of the Turkic Council, stressed the importance that the Council represents for the Member States as a strong multinational platform in key areas such as transport and education. He expressed that the joint statement to be presented by the Turkic Council and TurkPA will contribute to the efforts of Azerbaijan for the completion of the elections in accordance with the national laws and international democratic standards and practices.

Head of Mission Kocaman thanked the Deputy Minister for facilitation of the observation process for the Turkic Council and gave detailed information about the program of the Mission which will operate in Baku, Guba and Sheki. He also informed about activities and projects that are being implemented by the Turkic Council.

Project Directors Ozge Pan, Zhyzldyz Uzakova, Zhanar Nugumanova, Farid Damirli as well as Ambassador Metin Kılıç participated in the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
