Turkic Council International Observer Mission met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan.
The delegation of the Turkic Council International Observer Mission headed by the Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov, on 9 April 2018 in Baku.

The Chairman Panahov provided general information and statistics on the electoral process of the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which will be held on 11 April 2018. He also reported that no complaints were received by the Central Election Commission to date adding that all conditions were set across Azerbaijan to ensure free, transparent and fair elections.

Deputy Secretary General Kocaman informed his interlocuters on the purpose and functions of the mission, as well as underlined the plans of the delegation in the scope of the election monitoring activities. He briefed Chairman Panahov about the yesterday’s visit of the mission to Guba and their assesments on the preparations in Guba.

Deputy Secretary General Kocaman also gave information about the composition of the Turkic Council delegation comprising two groups that will observe the elections in Sheki and Baku.

Ambassador Metin Kılıç, Project Directors of the Turkic Council Ali Çiviler and Zhanar Nugumanova, officials from the Central Election Commissions of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Baktynur Mambetov and Naziya Telmukhamedova, Acting Chief of Protocol Araz Salmanov and Research Expert of the Turkic Council Dastan Almen were also present during the meetings.
