Turkic Council organized an International Conference entitled
Turkic Council in partnership with Aytmatov Academy in London, Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in İstanbul and Istanbul University, organized on 1 October 2021 in İstanbul, the International Conference entitled "Chingiz Aytmatov and the Turkic World" in memory of Aytmatov, the great writer of the Turkic World.
At the opening ceremony of the conference that was held at the Headquarter of the Turkic Council, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Sultan Raev noted that Aytmatov with his wise personality reflected in his literaray masterpieces, is the most prominent novelist of the Turkic world of modern times. S.Raev also underlined that his works have been translated into more than 160 world languages, which constitutes an outstanding service to the promotion and development of Turkic culture and literature.
The Chairman of Aytmatov Academy in London Prof.Dr. Rahima Abduvalieva talked about the personality, works and life of Chingiz Aytmatov and expressed that with his works the great writer penetrated the inner world of the people from different continents and and won their hearts. 
Consul General Lira Sydykova in her speech noted that Cengiz Aytmatov, left behind outstanding works marking the world literature which have been a source of inspiration for many authors, poets, journalists, and filmmakers. Stating that the Turkic World was introduced to the whole world thanks to Aytmatov 's novels, the Consul General emphasized that the famous author attached great importance to human, conscience, goodness and spiritual issues.
Prof.Dr. Abdullah Kızılcık, Director of the Eurasian Studies and Farabi Research Center of the Istanbul University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ölmez, Head of Department of the Faculty of Literature, Department of Contemporary Turkic Languages of Istanbul University and Prof. Dr. Orhan Söylemez Head of Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures of Kastamonu University also addressed to the participants at the opening ceremony.
Within the scope of the event, stage shows by artists and poets from Kyrgyzstan were performed and videos about the life and work of Cengiz Aytmatov were shown.
