Turkic Council organized knowledge sharing program on ICT in Kazakhstan
Turkic Council in partnership with the “National Information and Communication Holding “Zerde” conducted the knowledge sharing program on ICT on 27-28 September 2021 in Nur-Sultan, to explore the experience and best practices in the sphere of digital administration services, one-stop shop and innovation solutions of Kazakhstan.
At the roundtable meeting, the delegation was welcomed by the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Bagdat Mussin who briefed the delegations about the recent developments and future plans of Kazakhstan in the field of ICT, particularly the creation of friendly ecosystem and regional digital hub, redesigning the national program on digitalization, implementation of data-driven Government concept.
He expressed the necessity of reengineering all functions of the government through adoption of platform model for digitalization (digital bridge model), deploying of 5G mobile network, getting access to digital services in the rural areas, extending the fiber-optic cabling and increasing the number of orbit satellites in the country.
Highlighting the great potential of the Turkic Council Member States in ICT sector, Minister Mussin stressed the need to collaborate and unite the efforts to implement joint programs and projects within organization.
The Project Director of the Secretariat of Turkic Council, Farrukh Jumayev representing Turkic Council underlined in his speech that the program was conducted upon the request of Kazakhstan and high interest of other Member States to explore the potential and experience of Kazakhstan in digital/innovative solutions. He stressed that such platform will accelerate the digitalization transformation within Turkic Council region.
The representatives of the Member and Observer countries participated in the program shared their knowledge and experiences in digital administration, developing start-up ecosystem, innovation labs, cyber-security domains and IT education, as well as had fruitful discussions and B2B meetings on strengthening collaboration on these fields.
The Hungarian delegation that joined the meeting in online format also expressed the readiness to share their best practices with the Turkic Council countries and take part in implementation of joint initiatives.
During the program the Turkic Council delegation was also introduced with the activities and opportunities of the "National Info-communication Holding "Zerde" JSC, CF "International Technology Park of IT-startups "Astana Hub", "National information technologies" JSC, Astana IT University, "Astana Innovations" JSC, NC State corporation "Government for citizens" JSC and “Kaspi Bank” software application.
In addition, the delegation of the Turkic Council took part at the “Smart city Nur-Sultan Forum”, which was organized by Akimat of Nur-Sultan city on 28th September 2021. In his welcoming speech, the representative of the Turkic Council Secretariat stated that the Kazakhstan’s successful experience in implementing smart city projects under the State Program “Digital Kazakhstan” (such as “Astana- smart city” and new Nur-Sultan smart city) would be the best practice for the Turkic Council region.
The Parties agreed to continue exploring each other potential and experiences in digital transformation, the introduction of new technologies and the development of innovations.
