Turkic Council organized the first Working Group Meeting on Agriculture Cooperation   
The First Working Group meeting on Agriculture Cooperation of the Turkic Council was held on 19 October 2021 via online format. The meeting was attended by more than 35 government officials and experts from the Member and Observer States namely Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Hungary.
During the meeting, the Parties provided information on their current situation in the field of agriculture, ongoing reforms, new digital transformation tools applied in agriculture, as well as briefed about the projects and prospects for future collaboration within the organization.
They also discussed and exchanged views on opportunities for the development and diversification of agriculture sector, conducting activities on research and development, sharing of experience and best practices on agriculture production, phytosanitary and veterinary inspection. 
The Member and Observer States stressed the need for joint efforts and actions to build up synergies in regional level to enhance food security and agricultural productivity through cooperation on capacity-building and technology transfer, in close partnership with international organizations, such as IFAD, FAO and South-South cooperation.  
Moreover, the Parties expressed the view that this new platform, established within the framework of the Turkic Council, would contribute to strengthening multilateral collaboration in the field of agriculture among the Member States and Observer States, modernizing and improving the competitiveness of agriculture sector throughout the Turkic region.
