Turkic Council Project Director Ali Çiviler, participated in the Nevruz Celebration programme hosted by the Governorship of Istanbul, at the Topkapı Culture Park - Turkic World Culture Center on 21 March 2018.
The programme was co-organized by the Governorship of Istanbul, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Culture Corporation, Istanbul Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, Association of Turkic World Municipalities (TDBB) and Zeytinburnu Municipality.
The participants included Governor of Istanbul Vasip Şahin, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mevlüt Uysal, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Murat Aydın, Istanbul Culture and Tourism Director Coşkun Yılmaz, military protocol, representatives of the Consulates General in Istanbul and a large number of invited guests, journalists and citizens from the Turkic world.
During the celebrations in which iron forging and egg clutching rituals were performed, guests jumped from the Nevruz fire, Turkic folk dances, Caucasian folk dances and Caucasian and Uyghur music performances were staged.
