International Turkic News Channel organized by Akimat of the South Kazakhstan Region and International Turkic Academy on 12 May 2017 in Turkistan.
At the opening ceremony of the Forum, moderated by the President of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, Akim of the South Kazakhstan region Zhanseit Tuimebayev, they congratulated all participants and underlined that this forum was one of the important events within the framework of “Turkistan - the Cultural Capital of Turkic World”.
In his speech, Project Director Ceyhun Şahverdiyev gave detailed information about the activities of the Turkic Council for the development of information space and media in the Member States, especially about the recent meeting of the Working Group.
In addition, the International Turkic Academy’s Ismail Gaspıralı International Media Award was presented to the first winners. This media award was established for the purpose of stimulating and rewarding work of journalists who have contributed to the promotion of achievements of the Turkic world in the field of education, science and culture and to the development of cooperation of Turkic peoples in the sphere of media.
Heads of international organizations, leaders of the mass media and journalists from Azerbaijan, Bashkortostan, Belgium, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tatarstan, Turkey and Kazakhstan, as well as public figures and intellectuals participated in the event.
