Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov gave a conference entitled ‘Turkic Council: Recent Developments and Cooperation in the Turkic World’ organized by İzmir Coordination Office of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities of the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey and World Azerbaijanis Congress on 22 July 2016 in İzmir.
Opening of the Conference was made by the speeches of Dr. Fırat Yaldız, Regional Coordinator of İzmir Coordination Office of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities of the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey and Dr. Asif Kurban, Presidnet of the World Azerbaijanis Congress where they stated the importance of the Turkic Council for the region. Following that, Dr. Fırat Yaldız gave the floor to Secretary General Hasanov.
Secretary General Hasanov expressed his thanks to the organizers for the organization of such a timely event. More than 100 guests including the Deputy Governor of Izmir, other official high officials, representatives of various associations and regional institutions based in İzmir participated in the Conference.
Secretary General Hasanov in his speech gave information about the organizational structure of the Turkic Council, its mission and vision as well as concrete cooperation projects carried out , especially in the fields of economy, transport, customs and tourism. Secretary General Hasanov also conveyed information to the aparticipants about the relations of the Turkic Council with other international organizations and made several determinations regarding the place and importance of the Turkic Council as an intergovernmental organization in the current world conjuncture. Secretary General Hasanov also stressed that Turkic Council seeks peace and stability not only in its region but all over the World and continues its efforts in this direction. Furthermore he noted the doors of the Council is open for cooparation to all countries and organizations which work for sustainable development and security.
Following his speech, Secretary General Hasanov has answered the questions of participants. At the end of the conference, Ambassador Berki Dibek, Izmir Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey took the floor and conveyed his thanked to Secretary General Hasanov for his detailed presentation and for the successful work of the Turkic Council.
During the conference, participants commemorated the martyrs who lost their lives during the tragic events recently took place in Turkey and emphasized the importance of democracy, rule of law and human rights.
