On the margins of his official visit to Madrid to attend activities of United Nations World Tourism Organization and FITUR 2016, Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Bakyt Dyussenbayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Spain on 20 January 2016 as Kazakhstan is the Chairman-in-Office of the Turkic Council.
Ambassador Hasanov informed Ambassador Dyussenbayev on the activities of the Turkic Council including cooperation in tourism, relations with UNTWO and UNDP. In their meeting, both Ambassadors agreed to convene joint events in Spain in cooperation with the House of Asia with the participation of the Turkic Academy, TURKSOY, Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation that are the affiliated organizations of the Turkic Council. The Heads of official foreign policy research centers of the Turkic Council Member States will be also invited to the joint events. It is aimed that these events will be also instrumental in promoting Expo 2017 in Astana and the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package.
