Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov spoke at the 10th International Conference on “Transport Transit Potential-TransEurasia 2017” organized the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan on 2 November 2017 in Astana.
Secretaries General of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and TRACECA, Deputy Ministers of Transport of the regional countries, Country Directors of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Asia Development Bank (ADB) and International Road Transport Union (IRU), diplomatic corps accredited in Kazakhstan and private sector representatives operating in Kazakhstan in the field of transport participated in the meeting hosted by Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek.
In his speech, Secretary General Hasanov gave information on the activities carried out in the field of transport under the aegis of the Turkic Council and made evaluations on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, which gained a greater importance with the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
On the margins of the conference, Secretary General Hasanov had bilateral talks with several high-level participants, in particular with the Minister of Investment and Development Zhenis Kassymbek, during which he informed the counterparts about the activities carried out by the Turkic Council.
A Conference Declaration was adopted at the end of the event. The said declaration welcomed the multilateral efforts of Turkic Council in the field of transport and supported the activities of the organization on the way to develop the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor even further.
Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, Project Directors Ali Çiviler and Assan Mazhitov and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied Secretary General Hasanov at the conference.
