Turkic Council Secretary General attended Gala Concert dedicated to proclamation of Kokand city, Uzbekistan as “Turkic World Tourism Capital”
On the occasion of the 6th Meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Tourism of the Turkic Council convened on 24 June 2021 in Kokand, Uzbekistan, Turkic Council Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev along with Ministers of Tourism of the Member States attended the “Gala Concert” dedicated to the announcement of Kokand city as the “Turkic World Tourism Capital”.
As part of the cultural program, participants visited the Khudoyar Khan (Urda) palace, a magnificent complex of the last ruler of the Kokand Khanate, Khudoyar Khan, built in 1871, where the theatrical performance of “Ambassadors at the reception of Khudoyorkhan” was presented, followed by the tour of Palace, exhibits and “inner ard” stage show.
At the gala concert that took place in the amphitheater of the Khudoyar Khan palace, the guests enjoyed the best performances by folk groups and solo artists, dance ensembles that represent Fergana, Namangan, Andijan, Kharesm and other music schools, including Maqom arts, opera and ballet, as well as national songs and traditional music of Turkic Council’s other Member and Observer States.
In his opening speech, Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev highlighted that the 6th Meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Tourism, which was the first-ever high level meeting hosted by Uzbekistan since the country had joined the Turkic Council, was successfully held, where parties took important decisions on a number of practical issues.  He expressed confidence that the announcement of Kokand city as the “Turkic World Tourism Capital”, as well as other arrangements on implementing “Tabarruk Ziyorat” and “Tourism Map of the Turkic World” projects will serve to promote the enormous tourist potential of the entire Turkic world.
Following the concert, fireworks were launched into the sky of Kokand, celebrating the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world.
