Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States Halil Akinci on Thursday 24 May, 2012 in Astana.
Halil Akinci told about the Council's work and the results of the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS), which was held in Almaty last year.
The sides discussed the issues concerning the upcoming Summit of the Organization that is planned to be held in Bishkek this year. The theme will be "Education, Science and Culture."
"We constantly feel the support by the President of Kazakhstan. Today we have received specific recommendations and instructions from President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the effective development of the Cooperation Council of Turkic states," the Secretary General said.
In the context of his visit to Astana, Secretary General Halil Akıncı and Deputy Secretary General Darkhan Kydyrali met with the following officials:
- Participation as a speaker to V. Astana Economic Forum - II. Eurasian Business World Congress
- Dinner with Kazakhstan's leading magazine and newspaper writers
- Meeting with Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan
- Meeting with the Chairman of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan
- Meeting with the Vice President of the Assembly of Parliament of Kazakhstan
- Meeting with the representatives of Parliament of Kazakhstan to TÜRKPA
- Meeting with the President of the Eurasian National University
- Address to the students of the Eurasian National University
- Meeting with the Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan
- Meeting with the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan
- Participation to the reception of Government of Kazakhstan and dinner hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan
