Turkic Council Secretary General took part in the International Forum in Khiva
The Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev took part in the International Cultural Forum entitled “Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations” in Khiva, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, on 14-16 September, 2021.
The Forum was attended by Ministers of culture of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, high officials from Kazakhstan, Turkey,  heads of international organizations including UNESCO, ICCROM, ICESCO, over 500 representatives from more than 60 countries, as well as world-wide experts in the fields of preservation of cultural heritage, science and art.
Within the framework of the Forum, more than 10 exhibitions of unique masterpieces of Uzbek art, as well as 50 presented book-albums “The World Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in World Collections” were also organized.
The Secretary General addressed the Forum and highlighted the importance of the theme of the International Forum, emphasizing the ancient Khiva has been the one of the historical centres of the Turkic States, where prominent statesmen, educators and scholars lived and contributed to the development of culture, art and literature of the Central Asia region. 
He said that considering the importance of the cultural heritage of Khiva,it has been granted the status of “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2020-2021”.
Noting that International Forum clearly reveals that Turkic nations have lived in Central Asia since ancient times, Baghdad Amreyev stressed that this region can undoubtedly be called the historical homeland of all Turks.
The Secretary General noted that a significant number of international events have been organized  in cooperation with theUzbek Government in the past months, including the conference dedicated to the life and work of Yusuf Khos Khojib and Mir Alisher Navoi, who laid the foundation for the adoption of the Turkic language as the state language in Central Asia.
B.Amreyev expressed his gratitude for successful organization of this International Forum, which aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of the Turkic nation and wished peace and effective national development to the brotherly Uzbek people.
