Turkic Council Training Program on Authorized Economic Operator organized in Bishkek.
Turkic Council Training Program on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) organized in partnership with the State Revenue Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic took place on 28 November 2019 in Bishkek.

The lecturers from the WCO, Mr. Gaetano Sassone and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Ms. Melahat Tugce Karamanoglu shared respectively European and Turkish experiences of AEO sytem with customs officials of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in order to foster the capability of customs administrations to fully develop and sustain their own program.

Participants of the program benefited from detailed and practical information on the concepts, conditions and requirements for the establishment of an AEO program, implementation experiences in particular on risk assesment and postmonitoring mechanisms. 

From the Secretariat, Project Director Farrukh Jumayev touched upon the outcomes of 7th Summit of the Turkic Council in terms of economy, transport and customs; and briefly informed the experts on the current projects of the Turkic Council in the field of customs cooperation. Secretariat also emphasized on the efforts of the Organization for the Member States to become more acquainted with global best practices to facilitate trade and stressed the importance of trade facilitation for the Turkic Council Member States to further encourage trade expansion. 

The training program included two sessions and interactive discussions with topics covering the AEO implementation processes among participants and best practices as well as challenges of implementing AEO. 

The participants also discussed the possible means to further strengthen cooperation for better functioning of AEO systems in the Member States.
