Turkic Council training program on the nationally produced screening devices (Terahertz) hosted by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey was held at the Istanbul Airport. 
Turkic Council Project Directors Ozge Pan and Farrukh Jumayev took part in the training program held on the nationally produced screening devices (Terahertz) hosted by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkic Council Secretariat at the Istanbul Airport on 11 November 2019. The program was attended by the customs officials of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey as well as Georgia.
During the program the experts were introduced with the new advanced screening device “Terahertz” developed by the Marmara Research Center of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK MAM) to be used at border crossing points with the aim of detecting metal and non-metal dangerous materials as well as smuggled goods on persons. 
On the margins of the program, the participants also discussed multilateral cooperation opportunities to promote joint projects in the field of innovation and Research & Development on customs related issues.
